Irish citizens resident in Australia apply for or renew an Irish passport mainly online through the Passport Service, or by paper through the Post Passport service. The embassy page directs applicants to the online route as the fastest and cheapest.

Where to apply in Australia

Applications are made online or by post to the Passport Service in Ireland; the Embassy in Canberra, Consulate General in Sydney (NSW) and Honorary Consul in Perth (WA) give guidance.

Melbourne Consulate General's page says it is by appointment only and describes itself as opening soon; Melbourne residents are told to contact the Embassy in Canberra.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Ireland.
