Malaysian parents register the birth of a child born in Australia with the High Commission so the child's Malaysian citizenship and birth are recorded. Different forms apply depending on whether the child is under or over one year old, and single-parent cases are sent on to Malaysia.
Where to apply in Australia
High Commission of Malaysia, Yarralumla (Canberra, ACT), for all of Australia; thumbprint and photo certification may be done by a Malaysian Consulate or Honorary Consulate (NSW, QLD, SA), or by a Justice of the Peace or police officer in Tasmania.

Good to know
Numbered document list (1-8) was not reproduced in the readable text. Extraction of a birth certificate from Malaysia is not done by the High Commission: it is requested by registered post from the National Registration Department in Putrajaya (AUD 5). No date shown on the page.
