  • Checked 24 October 2026

Argentine citizens can renew or update the DNI card (change of address, loss, theft, damage, expiry, or children's compulsory updates at 5-8 and 14) at the Consulate-General. Applying for the new card cancels the old one. Foreign nationals do not receive DNIs here.

Where to apply in Australia

Consulate-General of Argentina, Level 20, 44 Market St, Sydney NSW. It is the only Argentine consulate in Australia and covers all of Australia plus Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu; the Embassy in Canberra has no consular section.

Residents outside NSW can ask by email (itinerancias address on the page) about the consulate's itinerant visits; visits depend on demand.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Argentina.

How to apply

Book an appointment through the national appointment system | attend in person | pay by card | track via RENAPER link | collect at the Consulate. Holders of the old green booklet should email the consulate with copies before booking.

Applications are handled through RENAPER / Cancilleria national appointment system.
