Marriages of Brazilians celebrated in Australia must be registered at the consulate to be valid in Brazil. At least one Brazilian spouse attends in person; a change of surname must be proved separately because Australian certificates do not show it.
Where to apply in Australia
Consulate-General of Brazil in Sydney (6/45 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW), which runs itinerant consulates in other cities; the Embassy in Canberra and honorary consuls are also listed. Check the consulate's jurisdiction page for your state.
Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Brazil.
How to apply
Book and upload documents through the e-consular system (sistema e-consular); the consulate checks them and then offers an appointment. Afterwards, transcribe the consular certificate at a 1st Office registry in Brazil.
