Bulgarian citizens abroad can apply at the embassy for a Bulgarian ID card, which is produced by the Ministry of the Interior.

- Lost, stolen or destroyed document must be reported within 3 days
- Return the old card when collecting the new one

Processing time: Within Bulgaria 90 days (regular) or 60 days (accelerated); abroad dependent on courier arrangements; mission notifies within 7 business days that the card is ready.
