Hungarian citizen parents register the birth of a child born in Australia in the Hungarian civil registry through the consular office. If the parents were unmarried, a voluntary acknowledgement of paternity is signed in person before a consular officer.
Where to apply in Australia
Embassy of Hungary in Canberra (ACT), Consular Office of Hungary in Sydney (NSW, all of New South Wales, Level 11, 309 Kent Street) and Consular Office of Hungary in Melbourne (Fitzroy North, VIC; covers Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania). Honorary consuls and periodic outreach consular days (Brisbane, Perth) handle a limited set of services.
Honorary consuls can accept some registration paperwork (outreach and honorary consul fees differ).
Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Hungary.
