Travellers to Mozambique generally need a visa. People based in Australia can apply to the embassy in Tokyo by courier; the embassy also says arrival tourist visas are available at border posts for people from countries with no Mozambican mission.

Email moz.consular@embamoc.jp first for the courier arrangement | send the form, passport, photos and documents by courier (applicant pays DHL return) within one month of arrival | pay the fee by bank transfer after applying | apply by courier only; applications cannot be changed or cancelled

- Round-trip itinerary in English
- Yellow fever card if applicable

Processing time: Ordinary 4-5 days; urgent 2-3 days (extra urgent suspended since 14 Feb 2023).
Good to know
Two embassy pages give different fee tables (the second shows JPY 8,500 ordinary, 12,000 urgent, 16,000 extra urgent, with garbled labels); the table from page_id=68 is used. Pages undated. Tokyo may only accept Australian-based applicants by courier.
