Oman: Attestation of documents (via Oman Post) in Australia

  • Checked 24 October 2026

Check with the office. The official pages for this service leave out some details, or are older than a year. Use this page as a starting point and confirm fees and documents before you apply.

Attestation of civil and commercial documents for use in Oman is no longer handled directly by the Foreign Ministry; it runs through Oman Post, electronically or at branches in Oman. The Canberra Embassy still lists certification of civil, commercial and authorisation documents among its services.

Where to apply in Australia

Online via Oman Post (omanpost.om/attestation-services); the Ministry says the electronic service is available in many countries and being expanded, and the pages fetched do not state whether Australia is covered. Embassy Canberra is the contact point.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Oman.

How to apply

Apply electronically at omanpost.om/attestation-services, or ask the Embassy in Canberra how documents from Australia are handled

Applications are handled through Oman Post, https://omanpost.om/attestation-services.

Good to know

Ministry page last updated 24 August 2026 and says attestation is no longer offered by its Consular Department; this conflicts with the Embassy page, which still lists certifications. Fees are in Omani rials, selected rows only.
