Powers of attorney that require a public deed can be drawn up at the consulate. Alternatively, an Australian notary can prepare one, which is then apostilled by DFAT and translated into Portuguese.

Where to apply in Australia

Consulate-General of Portugal in Sydney (NSW), which covers Australia except the ACT and holds consular visits in Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Wollongong; the consular section of the Embassy in Canberra covers the ACT.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Portugal.

How to apply

Email the draft (preferably in Word) with your Citizen Card details, the attorney's details, both tax numbers and your contact details. When it is ready you will be asked to pay and come to the consulate to sign. Pay in cash (AUD) or by Multibanco card at the counter, or by bank transfer (details sent by email).
