People travelling to Sierra Leone can lodge a paper visa application by Express Post with the Consulate General in Sydney. Passports and documents are returned by post and cannot be collected in person.

Complete two copies of the visa form | send them with passport, photos, vaccination proof, payment and a prepaid return Express Post envelope to the Sydney consulate | wait for return by post

Fees and processing time
- Official fee: AUD 179 for Australian passport holders; AUD 358 for other passport holders (each dependant pays)
- Other charges: urgent 72-hour processing AUD 100 extra per visa
Processing time: About 27 days; urgent within 72 hours; status enquiries answered only after 21 days (3 working days if urgent).
Good to know
Fees stated as $ on the page; no page date shown. The consulate site is the honorary Consulate General's own site and is only partly up to date (home page content dates from 2018). The page states passports can only be issued or renewed by the Immigration Department in Freetown, so no passport service is offered in Australia.
