Sweden: Coordination number for first-time passport applicants in Australia

  • Appointment Required
  • Apply by post Not accepted
  • Checked 24 October 2026

Swedish citizens who have never lived in Sweden need a Tax Agency coordination number before they can get a first Swedish passport or ID card. The embassy collects the application and requests the number; it cannot be combined with the passport visit.

Where to apply in Australia

Embassy of Sweden, Canberra only (honorary consulates do not accept these applications).

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Sweden.

How to apply

Book an appointment online | complete the Tax Agency name application form (SKV 7750, if not already filed) and the citizenship investigation form, signed with a pen | attend in person with all originals (child with a guardian) | the embassy requests the number and posts the decision | then book a separate passport appointment.
