Swedish citizens aged 18 or over living in or visiting Australia can apply for a Swedish passport, a national ID card, or both. The application is made in person at the embassy, where the photo is also taken.
Where to apply in Australia
Embassy of Sweden, Canberra (5 Turrana Street, Yarralumla ACT). Honorary consulates (Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney) do not take ordinary passport applications.
Honorary consulates only act as pick-up points for finished documents (nominate one when applying; extra charge plus postage) and, for Perth and Sydney, can issue emergency passports. All consulate visits are by appointment.
