Foreign nationals who need a visa for Argentina apply through the Consulate-General's Visa Section. Australian citizens are exempt for tourist stays up to 90 days; other nationalities need to check exemptions. Online alternatives (AVE, TIE 24H) exist for some travellers.
Where to apply in Australia
Consulate-General of Argentina, Level 20, 44 Market St, Sydney NSW. It is the only Argentine consulate in Australia and covers all of Australia plus Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu; the Embassy in Canberra has no consular section.
Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Argentina.
How to apply
Email the visa section with name, contact details, nationality, passport type, planned activity and dates | attend a mandatory interview by appointment | start about 3 months before travel and submit at least 45 days before | do not buy non-refundable tickets until approved. Eligible travellers can use AVE (valid US visa holders) or TIE 24H online instead.
