Check with the office. The official pages for this service leave out some details, or are older than a year. Use this page as a starting point and confirm fees and documents before you apply.

Australian citizens with a valid Australian passport apply entirely online for a Brazilian e-visa for tourism or business travel. It is emailed as a PDF, is not stamped in the passport, and has the same validity and multiple-entry rights as a consular visa.

Where to apply in Australia

Online only through the Brazilian e-visa portal run by VFS Global; the embassy in Canberra and consulate-general in Sydney are not involved in lodging.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Brazil.

How to apply

Complete the online form on the e-visa portal | upload the required documents | pay online | print the emailed PDF visa for boarding and arrival | dual nationals must use the passport they travel on

Applications are handled through VFS Global e-visa portal, https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/.

Documents you need

Fees and processing time

The official pages do not publish a fee for this service. Ask the office before you apply.

Processing time: Up to 10 business days once the application is complete; portal recommends applying at least two months before travel.

Good to know

the e-consular portals confirm a login-based request system with appointments and document upload but list no services publicly. Other Brazilian consular services (passports, civil registry, powers of attorney) are therefore not recorded.
