Hungarian citizens in Australia can apply to change their birth name or the form of their married name, or have a name change made abroad recognised in Hungary. A birth-name change is approved by the Minister of Interior, so a passport in the new name cannot be applied for at the same time.
Where to apply in Australia
Embassy of Hungary in Canberra (ACT), Consular Office of Hungary in Sydney (NSW, all of New South Wales, Level 11, 309 Kent Street) and Consular Office of Hungary in Melbourne (Fitzroy North, VIC; covers Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania). Honorary consuls and periodic outreach consular days (Brisbane, Perth) handle a limited set of services.
Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Hungary.
