South Korea: Adult passport (18 and over) in Australia

  • Apply by post Not accepted
  • Checked 25 October 2026

Korean citizens aged 18 or over in Australia apply in person for a new or replacement e-passport (10-year or 5-year, 26 or 58 pages). Men with outstanding military service still get a 10-year passport but also need a separate overseas-travel permit from the Military Manpower Administration.

Where to apply in Australia

Consulate-General in Sydney (NSW and NT), its Brisbane office (QLD), the Embassy in Canberra (ACT, SA, WA, TAS) and the Melbourne branch office (VIC). Mobile consular visits are held in places such as Darwin, Alice Springs and Port Macquarie.

Details below are from the Sydney Consulate-General's pages; the Embassy, Melbourne and Brisbane offices follow the same national rules but publish their own contacts.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of South Korea.

How to apply

Attend the Consulate-General or a mobile consular visit in person; applications by post or through an agent are not accepted. The passport can be posted back with a return-mail form and a registered envelope, and an express DHL service from Korea to Sydney (within 10 days) is available for urgent cases.
