The mission can register a marriage where at least one party is a Sri Lankan citizen and has lodged a notice of marriage with it. Registration can take place after 12 working days from receipt of the notice and within three months.

Sri Lanka High Commission, Yarralumla (Canberra, ACT) for ACT, NSW, QLD, WA and NT (and NZ and Pacific states); Sri Lanka Consulate-General, Melbourne for VIC, SA and TAS. Honorary consulates (Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth) are used to certify documents for postal applications.
Canberra counter hours Mon-Thu 9:30-13:00 (appointment by email or canberra.embassyonline.lk); Melbourne has its own booking links (consular hours Mon-Fri 9:15-13:45). Postal applicants get bank details by email after sending the file. The death-registration page also lists a Consulate-General in Sydney (NSW and QLD) whereas the other pages route NSW and QLD to Canberra.
