Cambodian passports can only be renewed in Cambodia, so a citizen abroad whose passport is lost, damaged, expired or under six months' validity authorises a relative or friend in Cambodia to renew it. The embassy prepares the authorisation paperwork.

Download and complete the application form from the embassy page | gather the listed documents | Post to the Consular Section address using a tracked yellow Express Post envelope with a self-addressed prepaid express return envelope (keep the tracking number); applicants outside Australia use DHL with a prepaid return label and waybill.
