Canadians living in Australia who need official proof of citizenship, for example people born abroad to a Canadian parent, apply for a citizenship certificate. The mission only receives paper applications and does not assess them; IRCC decides.

Where to apply in Australia

Consulate General Sydney (NSW, QLD, NT) by mail or at the security desk; High Commission Canberra for other states, in person.

Sydney security desk open 9am-4pm weekdays except public holidays; hand-delivered applications are not reviewed at submission.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Canada.

How to apply

Apply online with IRCC if eligible (faster) | otherwise send the paper forms, high-quality colour copies and the IRCC fee receipt to the consular section | track the file with IRCC, not the mission
