Check with the office. The official pages for this service leave out some details, or are older than a year. Use this page as a starting point and confirm fees and documents before you apply.

Turkish citizens who also hold another nationality, such as Australian, register this so a dual-citizenship note is added to their Turkish civil registry record. Adults apply in person and parents notify for minors.

Where to apply in Australia

Consulate-General of Türkiye in Sydney (Woollahra, NSW; jurisdiction: Australia except VIC, SA, TAS and WA) and Consulate-General in South Melbourne (VIC; jurisdiction: VIC, SA, TAS, WA). Embassy in Canberra also exists.

Melbourne: see melbourne-cg.mfa.gov.tr; no separate procedure pages for this service were published.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Türkiye.

How to apply

Attend the consulate in person (parent or guardian for minors) with originals and two photocopies | if identity details differ from the Turkish registry, a Turkish court identity ruling is needed first
