Check with the office. The official pages for this service leave out some details, or are older than a year. Use this page as a starting point and confirm fees and documents before you apply.
Adults who have never held an ePassport, or whose old passport is too old to renew (green, or machine-readable issued 2007-2010 and earlier), apply as new applicants with proof of identity and a PSA birth certificate. Special rules exist for dual citizens, naturalised citizens and citizens by election.
Where to apply in Australia
Philippine Embassy, 1 Moonah Place, Yarralumla (Canberra, ACT) for ACT, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory; Philippine Consulate-General Sydney for New South Wales; Philippine Consulate-General Melbourne for Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania (jurisdiction split as stated on the Embassy visa, dual-citizenship and civil-registry pages). Nauru, Tuvalu and Vanuatu moved to the Embassy in Suva, Fiji from 17 June 2026.
Passport appointments are booked through the DFA global online appointment system (passport.gov.ph); Canberra slots open monthly, first come first served, and a Gmail or Yahoo address is requested. The Sydney and Melbourne Consulates-General run their own appointment/requirement pages, which could not be fetched (Sydney site blocks automated access), so their specifics are not recorded.
Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of the Philippines.
