  • Checked 24 October 2026

Check with the office. The official pages for this service leave out some details, or are older than a year. Use this page as a starting point and confirm fees and documents before you apply.

Filipinos abroad can apply for a National Bureau of Investigation clearance through the Embassy, either as a new applicant (fingerprinting) or as a renewal of a clearance issued from 2014 onward.

Where to apply in Australia

Philippine Embassy, Canberra (the page names the Canberra office only).

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of the Philippines.

How to apply

Follow the Embassy's 'Applying for NBI Clearance' instructions for new fingerprinting or renewal | attend the Embassy

Documents you need

Fees and processing time

Good to know

Linked PDF on applying for NBI clearance was empty/unreadable, so requirements and time are missing. Fee figures come from the Embassy schedule of fees, which is dated 9 March 2016, so amounts may have changed. Both the Embassy and Melbourne Consulate General fee pages (read 2026-10-24) still state the schedule is as of 9 March 2016, so fees may have changed.
