Foreign nationals who need a visa for the Philippines apply online through the Online Visa Application System. Australian passport holders may enter visa-free for up to 30 days, and former Filipinos can use the Balikbayan privilege.
Where to apply in Australia
Online (OVAS); the Embassy Visa Section in Canberra follows up. The visa page lists the same state split as for other services (Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne posts).
Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of the Philippines.
How to apply
Submit the application and documents on the OVAS portal (visa.gov.ph) | receive the automatic email receipt | wait for the Visa Section to request more documents or an interview | do not finalise travel until the visa is issued
Applications are handled through Online Visa Application System (OVAS), https://visa.gov.ph.
Documents you need
- Signed application form saved as PDF, in English block letters
- Passport data-page photo
- Passport-style photo on plain light background
- Completed eTravel Health Declaration
- Compliance with Philippine entry rules
Fees and processing time
- Official fee: 9(a) single entry AUD 54.00; 6 months multiple entry AUD 108.00; 1 year multiple entry AUD 162.00 (2016 schedule)
Good to know
Fee figures come from the Embassy schedule of fees, which is dated 9 March 2016, so amounts may have changed. Visa-extension is handled by the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, not the Embassy. Visa processing time is not published. The fee schedule also lists other visa classes (transit, student, employment, immigrant) that are not described on the visa page. Both the Embassy and Melbourne Consulate General fee pages (read 2026-10-24) still state the schedule is as of 9 March 2016, so fees may have changed.
