Check with the office. The official pages for this service leave out some details, or are older than a year. Use this page as a starting point and confirm fees and documents before you apply.
The embassy verifies a person's signature on a document. The applicant must appear in person with valid photo ID bearing a signature. A proof-of-life signature is free.
Where to apply in Australia
Embassy in Canberra (confirmed); Consulate General in Sydney lists similar fees.
Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of the Czech Republic.
How to apply
Email the embassy to book | attend in person with valid photo ID showing your signature | pay in cash AUD
Documents you need
- Personal attendance
- Valid photo ID with signature
Fees and processing time
- Official fee: signature verification CZK 500 (AUD 33) per the October 2026 fee PDF
- Official fee: signature on proof of living CZK 0
Good to know
The legalisation page itself states CZK 250 for signature verification, which conflicts with CZK 500 in the October 2026 fee PDF; the PDF is newer. Fee amounts come from the Canberra embassy's consular fee PDF headed October 2026 (file dated 9 Oct 2026, fees updated monthly and converted from CZK); the page text had an obvious typo in the exchange-rate line.
