Check with the office. The official pages for this service leave out some details, or are older than a year. Use this page as a starting point and confirm fees and documents before you apply.

Ecuadorians living abroad, and foreign descendants up to the third degree of an Ecuadorian, register a birth or death already recorded by a foreign authority, creating an electronic record in Ecuador's civil registry system.

Where to apply in Australia

Embassy of Ecuador in Canberra (Yarralumla, ACT) and honorary consulates in Adelaide/Rostrevor (South Australia) and Victoria. The ministry pages describe the service for Ecuadorian consulates abroad in general; which Australian post performs each service was not published on pages that could be read (the embassy site blocks automated reading), so contact the embassy first.

Contact details for every office are on the page of the embassy and consulates of Ecuador.

How to apply

Request an appointment at the nearest consulate | submit documents to the consular agent | pay the fee | review and confirm the data | sign the registration records
